Meet Miranda
I am a painter who blends soft pastels, acrylics, watercolors, colored pencils, and graphite to create vibrant visual stories on canvas.
Growing up, I always thought I might become an art teacher. After all, I believed the saying, “those who can’t do, teach.” I never thought I was particularly good at art. Crafting? Yes. Decorating? Absolutely. But drawing? I wasn’t so sure.
After high school, I discovered something called graphic art on an Apple computer. In the mid-90s, it felt completely cutting-edge—especially since I didn’t even have dial-up internet at home yet. What followed was a long creative career working in digital and print design: newsletter layouts, logos, paste-up, film stripping, label creation, and catalog design.
While I gained valuable experience, I eventually realized something was missing. I wanted to create freely—to make what I wanted.
That desire led me to baking, where I spent years experimenting with recipes and frosting techniques through trial and error. I had a wonderful run sharing my creations with others. But when COVID arrived, everything stopped. Parties disappeared, gatherings paused, and homemade treats were no longer in demand.
So I turned back to art.
At home, I began learning to paint through YouTube tutorials, and something clicked. Years later, I’ve explored countless mediums and discovered that I love them all.
Now I paint simply because I love it—because creating brings me joy. And if someone else happens to love the result too, all the better.
Art is my joy, my curiosity, and my constant experiment.
